The summer program is led by a speech-language pathologist, special educator and adaptive riding instructor. Each participant will be assigned a 1:1 or 1:2  STAAR Buddy to assist them in continuously targeting speech-language goals through all activities. STAAR Buddies are trained undergraduate speech-language pathology majors from surrounding universities.

The STAAR Summer Program accepts a maximum of 12 children per session to ensure each participant receives the individual attention they deserve. All small group activities will consist of no more than 6 children. Upon enrollment, you and your child will be scheduled for a private screening and tour at Madison Fields.

Join us for our Summer 2019 Speech-Language Therapy, Agricultural Education & Adaptive Riding Summer Program held at Madison Fields!

The STAAR Summer Program is designed to promote speech, language, and social development in a naturalistic environment. With a focus on fun, our unique model allows participants to target their speech and language goals through out a variety of engaging experiences, including: adapted horseback riding, fishing, chicken tending, nature hikes, arts and crafts, and more.

Children should have a minimum of 50 words (or 50 signs), be able to follow simple directions independently, and have a minimum of one year of experience in a full-day school setting.
